Justice League was a major disappointment for both the studio and the fans as it flopped hard in the box office. However, the Justice League that we all saw in the cinemas was nowhere close to the original movie filmed by director Zack Snyder. It was full of reshoots and they were clearly visible as eagle eyed fans can easily distinguish between the original shots and the reshoot scenes in the theatrical version.
After a family tragedy, Zack Snyder had to leave the Justice League production crew but not before he finished filming his movie as only a few CGI shots were left unfinished when he went to be with his family. However, Warner Brothers didn’t want to wait for him and postpone their greatest movie and so they brought in The Avengers director Joss Whedon to complete Snyder’s Justice League. But in an infamous turn of events, WB decided to cut down the runtime of the movie to two hours which forced Whedon to change around half of the movie with almost 50% of it being scenes from reshoots that were during in a rush which also gave us the Superstacheman.
Fans have been petitioning for WB to release the original Justice League known as the Snyder Cut but WB doesn’t seem to be interested to even address the topic. However, Zack Snyder has shown his appreciation for the fans and his support by sharing news and photos about his original cut and recently during the San Diego ComicCon, Snyder revealed the original ending of his Justice League. He posted pictures from his cut where Wonder Woman cuts off Steppanwolf ‘s head after Superman punched him towards a Boom Tube. He then stated that Steppanwolf’s severed head rolls down towards Darkseid where the League finally sees the big bad with his entire family getting ready to conquer the Earth.
We may never see the Snyder Cut anytime soon but we have been given enough information about it to know that the entire movie we saw in the theater was not the one that was intended for us.
